The Sphere of Tranquility is known for its powers of healing, of protection and of pacification. specializes in supporting and protecting one's Chosen. These spells can soothe the wounded, ward the vulnerable and quell the even the most savage of enemies.

Tranquility Priests are devoted to peace and repose. For the most part, these clergyfolk tend to be goodly creatures, dedicated to raising up and helping their Chosen. These Priests tend to be well respected and their advice is received as kindly as their aid. There are those Priests however, that worship dark Gods that seek nothing but the peace of the grave. They are powerful healers and potent leaders that use their powers to advance their pawns and puppets across Midworld. Peace and serenity are mere weapons and tools to them in their war against life.

Specializing in protecting one's Chosen, these spells focus on beneficial effects such as healing or granting resistances against affliction. The power of tranquility can also be used on others, weakening the attacks of foemen or momentarily tranquilizing them. One of the most guarded and holiest powers of this Sphere grants the power of a Life God unto a willing Chosen - armed with such magic, a believer is suffused with life energies that he can use to support his companions at the cost of losing any ability to attack.

TRANQUILITY RITUALS

If a spell in this list requires a ritual, you may use the suggestions listed below.

Rituals for Tranquility spells are typically calm, placid affairs. Sometimes, they are communal meditation upon a concept or person that the lead ritualist designates; sometimes a location is central to this meditation - beside a lake, adjacent to a big tapestry, near a graveyard or around a table or altar. Sometimes, mantras are utilized in these rituals, a phrase or a string of words spoken in constant repetition that help the ritualists in their meditations.

Some Priests however, prefer more festive services - they arrange meals or banquets were courses are eaten in a specific order and in a specific way. More spartan Priests performing these rites use smaller courses or else focus on the ceremonial imbibing of sacred beverages such as holy wines (or beers among the Dwarves).

And then there are those that prefer to lend voice or musical talent to their ceremonies. The Priest or one of the ritual participants sings or plays a song for the others to meditate or reflect upon, similar to a Bard's performance. These songs are often tranquil but can sometimes be mournful or cheery depending on the disposition of the Priest and the nature of his or her religion.

Short Incantation (used by most Tranquility spells): "By Faith's Bounty, I invoke..."

Long Incantation (used by Rituals and Erudite spells): "By the Bounty and Charity of Faith, I invoke..."
