Show me the gold!
Well in Seventh Kingdom... we can actually show you the gold and lots of it!
Will money be physically represented in this game?
-Yes! We actually have physical gold coins that players can carry around, use for trade, and horde until they are filthy rich. When players first create a character they will roll for their starting gold. Every player will automatically get one gold, they will then roll for the last three. A player has a chance to get all four gold coins or hit misfortune and start out with one.
Will there be other things used in trade?
-Once again I'm very happy to say yes! There will be components that can be found out in the wilderness in game. The componenets will have no tag on them and is up to the player to learn what each component is worth and what they are used for. There are mutiple ways to find out... such as asking the traveling merchant, speaking to the local Inn Keeper, or experimenting and finding out the hard (and usually the most interesting) way.
-Along with components that will be used in professions we will also have magical potions, herbs, scrolls, treasure items scattered once again in the wilderness either growing wild or found in treasure chests. Anyone can collect these items and once again will have no idea what they are worth or what the side effects may be until someone with the knowledge is found or the players try them for themselves. Items will not have a set price so they can increase and decrease over time with trade.
Anything else?
-YES! We will also have an actual trade system with normal goods such as flour, salt, coffee beans, etc. It is up to the players to find these items, gather them, turn them into the Inn Keeper so the Inn Keeper can record whether the player is willing to sell or not. If the player is willing to sell to the Inn Keeper (or traveling merchant) a price will be decided upon and the player will recieve the payment. If the player does not decide to sell it will be recorded on their tab and 'banked' for future transactions. Players will learn to watch the market for price increases or decreases and can choose to really get involved with the trade or not.
You mentioned a bank... will there be a bank?
-Yes, the Inn Keeper is the acting Banker. If a player finds themself with a pocket full of heavy and noisy gold they can choose to be the target of the next pickpocket or choose to bank it on their card. The amount of gold they turn in will be recorded on their character card and will be availble if the player finds himself in a tight spot.
